Attempting to update Windows, I launch msdt and input the code. They guide me through the standard steps, then I switch to Task Manager. That’s when things become notable. They terminate the malwarebytes tray process. I move on to remove it from my system and end the call.

Yep... Besides, some security programs in older versions often clash with Windows Update (no surprises). Make sure your security tools are fully updated before changing the OS. If no update exists or you can't wait, try removing them, switching to the latest version, and then reinstalling. Another reason updates might fail is anti-cheat systems from games. Fixing a major OS flaw can trigger BSODs because these programs affect drivers directly. Just like with other software problems, Microsoft usually collaborates with the company as soon as they notice issues in insider builds.
