Unavailability seems probable. The 3100 was generally just hype. In fact, since it's so uncommon, you often find a more powerful 3300X or 3600 available at lower prices.

It seems the lower-end or older AMD processors are becoming harder to find, which is what was mentioned earlier. While some models are still available, others are limited.
