The AMD Expo configuration might have affected my RAM performance.
Hello, I just set up my new PC components: CPU Ryzen 7 7700x, motherboard X670 Aorus Elite, RAM Kingston Fury DDR5 32gb at 4800mhz, PSU Corsair RM850, GPU AMD Radeon 6750X. It started working and I posted after the first boot, but before installing the OS noticed the RAM clock was only 3600mhz. There was a button to turn on Intel XMP/AMD Expo—enabled it in hopes of boosting speed. After saving settings and rebooting, it wouldn’t load properly; the DRAM light stayed illuminated. I tried resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery, but that didn’t help, and the board still stuck on the DRAM indicator. Do you have any suggestions for further troubleshooting? Thanks.
The initial RAM speed of 3600MT/s suggests the modules might not be placed correctly, as they should typically run at 4800MT/s if positioned properly. Verify the installation, focusing on slots 2 and 4 starting from the CPU.
Removing the battery alone isn't enough to fix the BIOS issue. Once the power cord is unplugged and the battery is secured in its case: Disconnect the BIOS reset pins located at the base of your motherboard.
