To ensure the 5600X fits without needing a separate Ryzen 3, I need to choose a board that supports it. Since BIOS flash tools are likely too costly, I should focus on compatible motherboards that explicitly list Ryzen 5600X support.
The two main chipsets are B550 and X570. You're unsure if the product you're considering was stored for a long time without a Ryzen 5000 compatible BIOS. You have two options: purchase boards with USB BIOS flashing or take the risk. I prefer boards that support USB flashing because it takes only five minutes and you're finished.
Regardless of the chipset you select, check the packaging for the Ryzen 5000 compatibility label or review the online product page. Even though the X570 was released before the Ryzen 5000, an updated BIOS will indicate readiness. It’s unlikely you’ll encounter any issues. Most 500-series boards include BIOS support for the Ryzen 5000. With the current chip shortage and sold-out inventory, it’s hard to find boards that haven’t been in stock recently.
In Mexico there are 3060Ti, 3060 and 6660XTs available, though they're costly. The situation mirrors the US, with a chip shortage and limited budget for computer components. As a non-Mexican buyer, I’m unfamiliar with local online stores and consumer habits, but I suspect they likely purchased these in bulk from China without BIOS updates—risky move.
X470 could run a compatible BIOS, whereas B450 cannot. Compatibility comes via a "Beta BIOS" that officially backs the 5000 series, but it also eliminates support for earlier processor models. Since the standard BIOS doesn't include 5000 series features, B450 units won't be available with that support.
