I don't get it, though it might be the CoolnQuiet function for AMD chips. After overclocking to 4.2Ghz, my idle temps stay between 64-68°C, but when a load starts, they drop to around 37°C. Any explanation?
Just a thought, but maybe the fans ease up? Or there might be a system like BOINC that consumes the cpu heavily until another task takes over, with the latter being less demanding? Another chance is the chip reduces its speed (coolnquiet) because of instability and high load.
