My sister owns an old laptop, specifically the Acer Aspire One KAV60. I need the official or reliable specifications for this device. I want to know the maximum RAM capacity, the number of slots it has, and whether it uses DDR1 or DDR2. I plan to install a Linux lightweight distribution that is 32-bit compatible, so I should choose the maximum RAM size based on the available slots. Thanks in advance. P.d: I already searched on Google, but the numbers vary, mostly around 1GB.

DDR2 SODIMM modules up to 4GB should fit. It has just one slot. It isn't a high-performance system, so you won't get much out of it. Back then, Atom processors were decent for running Windows XP, though not ideal. The main new feature was the early use of SSDs, but they were small and often overheated.

Thank you for the feedback.
Yes, it heats up a lot, but the laptop cooling pad helps it run smoothly. It works with XP, though it's slow, but it functions. We're okay until now.
I've verified there is one slot available.
Could you please share your source (link) regarding the RAM capacity? I also need to know the speed in MHz (RAM speed).
With Linux installed, it should be used mainly as a basic client for other machines on the same LAN via SSH, JMX, and Web Browser (such as Jenkins or other web consoles). I believe with 2GB (and even more with 4GB) it should suffice for our planned purpose.
Appreciate your support.

I found DDR2 800 (PC6400) and you should compare it with the current speed inside it for accuracy.

Regarding the origin, it's not very detailed. Mostly firms offering memory upgrades tailored to that particular model check images of the bare motherboard to verify the single slot.
Usually I search on Crucial, but for some reason they don't list that model.

Thank you for the input - I'm looking for models based on Kingston and ensuring the motherboard supports at least 4GB of RAM. Could you provide the link?

amazon or ebay as I remember. Just type your model in and memory upgrade.
