people stopped caring about AC after Black Flag. personally ive played all the main games so far except Rogue, and ive enjoyed them all(except ill be honest, i hated black flag, they turned an unenjoyable minigame from the previous game into a full fledged game and it sucked). the story isnt great and the gameplay is mediocre, and its full of bugs for the first 6 months after launch, but for the most part i actually enjoy the games. but wont pay full price for them. something about them i just really like though.
I liked Unity after it got lots of updates, but I didn't go ahead with the preorder. I tend to hold off unless I'm really confident it'll work out. Syndicate is a good example of being cautious—once you see Watch Dogs, you're less likely to do it again. Assassin's Creed has been a bit of a struggle lately.
Even creatures as simple as humans eventually refrain from touching the flames after that many attempts.
