The AC power adapter isn't showing up, which makes my computer slow down a lot.
I've been having trouble with my laptop recently because of the battery or charger. When I use the battery, my computer slows down a lot, especially when playing games. I can't fix this in settings. It also has a hard time recognizing that it's being charged. Even though the charger gives me power, the LED light doesn't turn on by the side of my laptop. This shows up as an error message when I try to start the computer. Here is one link: https://imgur.com/yhrlkbk There is also a second link showing the image: https://i.imgur.com/yhrlkbk.jpeg When it's charging but not detected, the performance is still slow. Neither the charger nor the charging port (the female side) are original. I replaced both because they caused this same problem before and I hoped to fix it myself with a replacement. Here is one link for the replacement: https://imgur.com/qPxxr53 And here is another image of that link: https://i.imgur.com/qPxxr53.jpeg Sometimes it charges fine, other times it doesn't. Any tips? Edit: I checked and my charger is actually 65W. Is this the problem? If so, why does it work sometimes but not others?
Check if your laptop needs a BIOS update. For my Dell Inspiron 3505, neither the charger nor its female port is original because I swapped them out before and they were giving me this same trouble in the past. I thought replacing them would fix it on my own. You might have had that exact problem too. It's better to use real parts so you don't run into compatibility issues later.
