I recently changed my CPU from a 13900k to a 14900KS. I bought it second-hand on eBay, but after installation, my A-channel for RAM won’t post or reach the BIOS screen. My ASRock Z790 PG SONIC board has lights at the bottom, and it seems to get stuck on the DRAM light. I’ve updated the BIOS, performed a reset—removing the battery and shorting the reset pins—and put the old CPU back in. It looks like the pins aren’t bent. The only way to get the PC to boot is by removing Channel A RAM, leaving just B1/B2. This has caused a lot of instability I haven’t experienced before. I read online that RAM not sold as a set can cause issues, but all four worked with the previous processor. I’m trying to figure out if I missed something during troubleshooting. I believe the CPU isn't damaged, as it previously functioned well. Both CPUs are experiencing the same problem regardless of which one is used. There seems to be no memory-related issues from incorrect voltage settings, though I'm not an overclocker and stick to recommended configurations. The BIOS was recently updated, but nothing changed. Please let me know if you'd like to try something.
It turned out to be a problem with the CPU. At first I couldn't spot it, but eventually located it. I purchased a second board that had bent pins and it matched the same issues. I then ordered another identical board from a repair team, providing photos of straight pins and functional RAM channels. I verified the board functions correctly and all RAM channels operate properly.
