It was a strange occurrence a few months ago. I wasn't sure what happened, but I was using win32diskimager and it usually didn’t fully lock the drive. When I combined it with another program to install Windows 10 preview, the drive became locked (write protected). My flash drive doesn’t have a feature to disable this lock. Right now it works as a bootable USB with the Windows 10 installer. Is there a solution to resolve this? I’ve tried various CMD commands without success.

Ensure Disk Management is open and format the drive as needed.

Launch CMD, run 'diskpart', then 'list disk', choose the desired disk by its number, and execute 'attributes disk clear readonly'

It doesn't function properly. The system indicates the disk is write-protected even after successful formatting commands.

Tried using EaseUS partition master—it handles things Windows can't. Make sure to click the "apply" button; it generates a command list and waits for you to run them. It took me a few minutes on the first try. A Linux live USB could also work. Start with Linux, open Gparted, and remove flags to re-partition the drive. Just like Partition Master, press "apply" after choosing your commands.

Right click the item, select proportions, then deselect read-only.
