You're using a solid setup with 48GB RAM and stable CPU performance. The improvement with more sticks suggests the bottleneck might be elsewhere—possibly cooling or workload distribution. High idle temps above 40°C are concerning, so consider upgrading your cooling solution.

Running on Intel stock now. If the cooler doesn’t work, I plan to upgrade the RAM once prices stabilize.

And that means an 8GB drive plus a 4GB drive can operate in dual-channel mode up to the size of the smallest RAM stick, which here would be 4GB per channel. The remaining 4GB is considered a single channel. It seems Windows likely manages this quite poorly as well.

You're referring to the performance differences between CSGO and GTAV based on your previous setup. Did the 180fps in CSGO and 90fps in GTAV align with your expectations, or were there specific hardware changes involved? Be aware that the 1050ti is relatively slow, and even at 30fps in 720p for CSGO, it might seem like a problem. Please share your CPU and GPU usage while gaming so I can better understand your situation. With those frame rates, I suspect you're experiencing high CPU demand and lower GPU performance.

I received an average of 180 in CSGO prior to the upgrade. Just one day before my RAM was installed, all CPU-heavy games began lagging significantly. I managed 90 FPS in top-tier custom settings initially, but then dropped to just 16 FPS under the same conditions afterward. The improvements after the RAM installation were noticeable, though still not matching my previous performance levels.

Checking if removing the 4 gig stick restores normal operation. If yes, the issue might be related to Windows performance with two different stick sizes.
