The 3200MHz RAM struggles to exceed 2666MHz frequency.
Hey everyone. I'm working with a 3700x on an MSI B450 board that has 64GB of 3200MHz CAS and 16GB RAM. I've always set the RAM manually, but I also experimented with XMP without success. I've adjusted CPU, RAM, and SOC voltages beyond recommended levels, but nothing changed. Changing timings didn't help either, and I've updated the BIOS to the latest version. Any suggestions on what else I could try next?
4x16GB memory is more demanding for initial setup, particularly on a B450 motherboard.
I purchased two sets of 2x16GB drives. They are Corsair Vengeance LPX, CMK32GX4M2B3200C16 models.
Occasionally combining dual channel kits causes problems, even if the part number matches. However, chipset quirks might be involved. Start by running MemTest86 to ensure your RAM is healthy. If you succeed, look for a BIOS update; only install it if the patch addresses memory stability issues. Otherwise, skip it. This is my initial approach.
