Check those impressive 4K CPU performance gains. Even at 1440p the improvements are minimal and the 5800X outperforms the 5900X when PBO is active. For a 5900X, it's not powerful enough to handle 3090 at 4K resolution.
I might end up with the same GPU and chose the R 7 5800X. It will start slow, but once productivity cuda kicks in it handles the heavy lifting so fewer cores aren't needed. I also own Intel CPUs with 6, 8, and 10 cores, and having eight or more can sometimes cause issues. For gaming, I use 120Hz 4K monitors, aiming for 4K at 120Hz. The R 9 5800X and my i9 10900K can usually handle those resolutions in most games, though no GPU currently matches the performance of a 3090. The newer 3090 models will bring me closer to that goal.
This way, even when spending a large amount at once, it feels less obvious if you're spending a significant sum multiple times. Got it, I understand 😄
