In the last two hours you've noticed intermittent network drops while downloading the Fall Creators Update for Windows 10. After a short recovery, it has stabilized but remains stuck at around 97% usage for nearly half an hour. There’s no activity unless you take action. Decide whether to wait or intervene—continuing without action might lead to a complete failure if you power off the PC later.

It should continue downloading if it hasn't started installing.

It might cause the download to complete, depending on the status and network conditions.

It could happen. Usually you should inform M$ about updates, not vice versa.

It might not be downloading due to the system's design or server capacity issues on Microsoft's end.

It seems the download is stalling with a 0% progress for a while. I’m worried about missing important tasks before nightfall. If it had saved 97% of the file, shouldn’t it resume from where it left off? I’m shocked it wiped out over 3GB due to just one failed attempt.

It's not uncommon to wonder that way. Windows 10 has its strengths and weaknesses, but many users find it quite dependable.

It went down to 6% downloads before moving to installation, which is better than expected. I hope the setup process during restart isn’t too slow—especially since my system isn’t handling it well. It’s working smoothly now, using less than 50% CPU, and I didn’t notice any issues during installation.
