I own a custom setup with 13400f and Gigabyte B660 Mobo. This is my first time using an F build (previous ones had Ipus). It has 32 GB RAM, XPG GPU 4070 Ti, AsusTUF OC. Very new, only about six months old. The case includes three RGB fans—two intakes and one exhaust. Issue: the PC shut down completely one night. Returned the next day and it wouldn’t power on at all. Only the GPU power light stayed on. Normally, if there’s a problem with the CPU, Mobo, or anything else, the RAM and fans should start up. But here, neither the fans nor the RAM are showing any activity. Question: If the GPU is fine, would the fans and RAM still activate? Or is this only an F build situation? Confused.
Its not about f builds. It depends on the fault. If it is a "short" based fault then if it has igpu or not doesnt matter it wont power on because "short-protection" kicks in so you wont catch on fire ! About things to test - most of the time its psu it self is the issue but there are ofcourse chance being something else. Here are things you can try : Try with no memory at all - it wont post but it should make your fans spin. no ? Clear csmos Still no ? Take out gpu. It wont post but should make fan spin. Still no ? Take out all usb devices including ethernet. nope ? Then take out all nvme/sata fan hubs etc. Still no ? then try an other psu. Still no ? try a diffrent motherboard. if that is not its cpu.
I also got another GPU that worked perfectly. It powered up without needing a power cable. My unit is brand new, with no burn marks or smoke. The Tuf brand 4070 Ti Super looks great—it never goes over 65°C. What’s odd is it doesn’t even spin any fans despite the GPU being on. At least the motherboard should be getting power, along with the CPU cooler and case fans, and RAM should show some activity.
