Someone at Intel mentioned it's simple to boost the 10980XE to 5.1Ghz using regular water cooling. The chip offers more capacity than the 99xx and 79xx models. With the 4.8 Turbo Boost 3.0, reaching 5Ghz is manageable thanks to recent enhancements. Avoid relying on benchmarks where people use the default 3Ghz and test it themselves. This processor is expected to be powerful, likely competing with the TR3. I'm excited to upgrade to a Gigabyte x299x Aorus Master with the 10980XE in a few more weeks. We'll learn more then.
