I'm experiencing overheating while overclocking with my Noctua NH-D15 cooler and Prime95. The temps stayed within a safe range most of the time, but then they spiked suddenly, reaching 100 degrees on the core. It's not just about voltage—it's about how it all fits together. My fans are functioning correctly, including the Noctua ones. Is this a typical issue or something more serious?

As long as your temperatures remain within acceptable ranges except during stress tests, everything is fine. Was the core 3 activity restored to normal or did it persist?

As long as your temperatures are within acceptable ranges except during stress tests, you're fine. Core 3 returned to normal after reaching 100, and the other areas settled in the 90s. I stopped the stress test once that happened. Temperatures dropped right away into the 30-40 degree range.

Temperatures are fine as long as they stay reasonable outside of stress tests, right? Core 3 returning to normal or staying elevated? Once it hit 100 with the others in the 90s, I stopped the test. Immediately afterward, temps dropped into the 30-40 degree range. It's okay if you're at 30-40 idle, but that's still a bit high. Look at your case airflow, ambient temperature, and thermal compound application.

Which Prime95 release are you employing?
If the newest release is your choice, temperatures may vary throughout the test phases.
The suggested installation is 26.6.
