It's frustrating having overprotective parents. I wouldn't have responded to the original post if I had something new to add. The comment about Portal being an FPS stuck with me. First, he's correct. Second, Portal doesn't involve shooting people—it just uses walls to make portals for solving puzzles. I appreciated his observation because it pointed out a clear misunderstanding in your parents' reasoning. "FPS" and "violence" aren't the same thing.
