I recently purchased an RTX 2080 from a second-hand UK store called CEX. It has now been returned. I’ve never experienced a GPU exploding before; the power delivery failed and caused some melting in the PCIe slot. I plan to use the IGPU with my 5600G for a while until the next generation is released. I’m concerned whether the PCIe slot might be damaged. I sent an email to customer support, but they stated they couldn’t refund any additional damages.

The GPU slot seems to be functioning, though the plastic component appears slightly warped. You might be able to find new parts for it.

The GPU experienced a fire incident? Those visible burns confirm it happened.

I put it to sleep during a game and woke up with a burning odor. I wondered if it was a power supply I disassembled earlier, but it wasn’t. I didn’t see any flames. Soot covered my RAM, yet the computer still functions.

Most folks are curious about what to steer clear of when such situations arise.
