Turn it on once. Register your motherboard with Microsoft and reactivate if needed. Or skip it entirely. As far as I remember, Linus often posted a note saying "this Windows copy isn't genuine" on his testbenches because the MMO kept changing.

Purchase a retail key, execute slmgr /upk prior to modifying motherboards. Afterward, reinstall the operating system and re-enable it.

You can remove the key anytime during a motherboard upgrade and apply it to other devices. There’s no restriction. Plus, it’s completely allowed!

You can simply install and activate normally, then run the deactivation process, and after that reinstall as usual each time. Alternatively, you could install without activating it at all.
