terrible stuttering and input lag whilst playing league of legends
This has been occurring for an extended period; every time I play, my mouse and keyboard consistently malfunction completely, rendering the game unplayable. Initially, everything functions perfectly – there’s no input lag, frame rates remain above 60-70, and performance is smooth. However, during gameplay or when engaging with opponents, the mouse freezes in place and becomes severely sluggish, significantly impeding my actions (the screen doesn't freeze, allowing me to observe the environment). I attempt to use the keys to avoid appearing incompetent, but it’s ineffective. Have any other players experienced this problem? If so, are there any known resolutions? Thank you for your assistance.
My hardware configuration is quite basic; however, I don’t believe this is the cause of the stuttering as the game functioned smoothly a month ago. I wasn't sure if it was relevant, but my system had been experiencing performance issues, so I opted to reinstall Windows before doing so. During the installation process, I encountered UEFI and, unfamiliar with it, researched its function to discover that it’s faster and better suited for my motherboard. Consequently, I switched from BIOS mode to UEFI and installed Windows in that configuration after formatting the disk and converting it to GPT. Everything worked perfectly afterward. This was the only modification made to the system before the persistent lag began; nothing else had been altered.
Specifications:
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz (2 cores/2 threads)
AMD Mobility Radeon 3650HD with 512MB of GDDR3 memory
3GB DDR2 RAM
As I previously stated, it’s highly improbable that the hardware is responsible for this problem, as the game was running correctly prior to the formatting and UEFI conversion. The lagging has occurred since then after the changeover. If UEFI is indeed the source of my lag, could someone please explain why this might be happening?
