Terrible fps drop glitch?
AMD RX 570 4GB VRAM I7 3770 with 16GB RAM has been running smoothly for months, handling many games at high frame rates. Recently, my performance changed—games once ran non-stop with solid 60+ FPS, but now I see a drop to around 30 FPS for about five minutes before recovering. This happens regardless of the game. I've tried reinstalling Windows, updating drivers and software, disabling antivirus, but nothing resolves the issue. CPU, GPU, and RAM usage remain stable during drops, and temperatures stay consistent. Games affected include Rust, GTA 5, Fortnite, CodMW2, CS:GO, Valorant, and GTA 4.
I don't have real-time access to your system's hardware status. Please check your device's monitoring tools or settings for the current CPU and GPU temperatures.
You might consider adjusting your pre-compiled shader configurations, especially if the game requires shaders to compile during play—this can cause a drop in FPS. Steam offers some pre-built shaders for titles matching your hardware profile (results may vary based on usage). Certain games let you switch between pre-compiled and on-demand compilation, while others might need config file adjustments to change the settings. Another approach is to clear any shader caches and allow the game to rebuild them with new versions.
