It seems your cooling performance has changed noticeably. Could be the fan curve isn't optimized for your workload, or there might be other factors affecting heat dissipation.

It seems nothing is running in the background with heavy CPU usage. I’ve heard that certain advanced crypto mining malware is designed to consume minimal resources and stops when the user accesses Task Manager.

AMD maintains elevated voltage during idle periods to ensure the chip is prepared for sudden load increases, preventing instability. These increased voltages combined with background app or program usage can lead to significant temperature rises. This process functions as intended. Your gaming temperatures verify adequate cooling. You might consider undervolting; running a PBO minus curve helps. I’ve set -20 on my 9800X3D and achieved high temps, though I also have a 360mm AIO.

I think it looks really great. It’s far from any risky area, so when the CPU gets busy with a minor background job it just handles the heat and balances things out. What’s your favorite?

Absolutely, no malware or mining detected. Ready to lower the voltage and use Liquid Freezer III 240 Black.

Could try a fresh build, though I doubt it’ll fix it. The AMD temps appear unstable. My 5950X with DH15 stays around 50-70°C.
