I currently own an Intel Core i7 11700K and a Cooler Master HYPER 212 EVO V2. The cooler comes with a stock fan, but I’ve installed an ARCTIC P12 PWM PST 120mm fan. My recent gaming sessions are more CPU-heavy than GPU-intensive, and temperatures often rise above normal levels. When things get hot, games slow down or crash. My system is only a week old and I haven’t changed the thermal paste since installation. Am I using an adequate cooler? Should I replace the thermal paste or upgrade to a better one? With these CPU-heavy titles—Elden Ring, Riders Republic, some Assassin’s Creed games, and Need for Speed—I’m experiencing sustained high temperatures. These temps could potentially harm my components over time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I don’t risk damaging my hardware.

Have you checked the temperatures and what values are being recorded? The HYPER 212 EVO V2 isn’t as strong as a dual tower cooler, but it should handle a 11700k well during regular gaming. We still need more details. Do you have sufficient airflow in your setup?

Wouldn't it be helpful to share the actual temperatures instead of just mentioning "high"?

Seems like you're thinking about swapping out some thermal paste.

When purchasing a paste, look for one that suits your specific needs—consider texture, consistency, and intended use.

I checked the details of the product you're considering. The generic Nano Diamond Heatsink Compound is designed for standard use, but confirm compatibility with your specific application to ensure it meets your needs.

Consider visiting a standard computer shop or an online retailer. These places typically carry similar options. Upgrading will likely extend your device's lifespan by several years.

It’s possible but check availability and quality at your nearby shop.
