I just completed setting up my PC. Installed Windows, drivers, and more, but noticed the CPU temperature in Ryzen Master hovering between 40-50°C without the side panel on. I told myself it was normal and kept going with Steam and other tasks, which took about ten minutes. Checked again later and it was around 60-70°C, close to 80°C. I'm writing this after spending half an hour searching in the case for clues. Anyone have suggestions? Is that the expected temperature for a Ryzen 5 5600? I ended up using the stock cooler and an MATX case, but it still reached nearly 80°C.

Are the temperatures out of range? Was the thermal paste applied correctly? Which stock cooler is recommended—Wraith Stealth?

The Ryzen 5600 shouldn't reach 50°C during idle or desktop use. Check if your case is overheating, the cooler is properly installed, or if the fan speed needs adjustment.

I’m not sure about the thermal paste application since it was made for me, but I did get the original cooler.

I thought we were on the same page—perhaps the cooler isn’t providing enough cooling. Removing it and reassembling could definitely help. Your case is pretty tight, and having just one fan seems insufficient right now. A photo would make it easier to see what you're working with.

Images also assist in understanding the situation. The issue isn't necessarily the cooler not touching the CPU too much. It could be about how the thermal paste was applied. This substance fills gaps between the cooler and CPU, improving heat flow. Removing the cooler often requires cleaning and reapplying paste, especially if the application was poor. You can leave it on if the coverage is adequate, but ensure you have extra paste ready.

Potential problems include:
1. Mounting force insufficient or inconsistent.
2. Insufficient thermal paste application.
3. Damaged sensors detected.
4. Fan operation not functioning properly or at low speed.

Could you confirm if the issue lies with the application or the way it's being used?
