I just reinstalled everything, but the computer needed a few restarts afterward. On some of those restarts, the speaker emitted a three-beep sound and the screen displayed an "CPU OVER TEMP ERROR." After all installations, I checked the CPU temperature and it was around 80°C during idle. Is this typical? Should I just reapply thermal paste? I also noticed the original cooler was slightly loose. I haven’t done any overclocking.
If the stock cooler isn’t secure, it may not be properly connecting to the CPU. Contactless cooling is really challenging, particularly for a 3900x model. Seriously, the CPU includes thermal paste—ensure the cooler’s contact plate is fully in touch with the CPU. The cooler shouldn’t be wobbly.
I didn't fully tighten the lever, which caused the sloppiness.
