I just assembled a new PC for 3D rendering and am thinking about upgrading the CPU cooler. Since nothing is overclocked, I’m unsure which temperature to aim for. Here’s what I have right now under heavy use with the stock cooler: my setup includes an ASUS TUF X570 motherboard, a Ryzen 9 3900 TDP65W CPU (not the 3900X), 64GB RAM, an EVGA 3060 graphics card, a 750W PSU, and it’s running at full load.

Use hwinfo64 for accurate readings. Locate the CPU details—likely the package inside the core shown in the screenshot. This is the hottest area within the processor.

Temperature readings from hwinfo64 show consistent max temperatures and processor speeds regardless of increased workload or higher room temperatures.

When operating at maximum capacity, a temperature drop of 80°C is typical well below the 95°C limit. Stay calm.

The stock cooler for 3900 works fine. An aftermarket version would be better, though it isn’t a pressing issue right now.

Looks like the forecast matches expectations, no major concerns. Just checking if everything was at full capacity during those readings.

It was completely consistent, maintaining the same temperature throughout. It could rise slightly to about 81 for a couple of minutes, then return to 80 again.
