Temperatures, fan speeds, an odd event, and I'm puzzled?
Hello. I may or may not have a problem, so I'd like to ask for any advice. Thanks in advance for any help.
I like to keep an eye on temperatures so I usually run HWiNFO64 whenever the PC is on, and especially when gaming. Normally temps and fan speeds are all very healthy.
Earlier today the device disconnect/connect sound happened and a notification appeared that a USB device was not acting normally - or something to that effect.
Normally when running HWiNFO64, my PC's case lights always turn off. But after this error, the lights back on even while the program was running.
Also, it's possible that I was being blind, but I am pretty sure the CPU fan speeds disappeared from HWiNFO64 at this point. The CPU fans themselves were visibly still running though. And GPU fan speeds were still visible in HWiNFO64 as normal.
After reading some info, I tried powering down the PC and switching off the PSU for a few minutes. When I restarted, I could immediately see that HWiNFO64 did not deactivate my RGB lights when running, so I knew something was still up.
I rebooted again and this time went into BIOS and Smart Fan settings to have a look. I changed nothing and then booted as normal. This time the RGB lights *did* turn off when running HWiNFO64 and I could see CPU fan speeds as normal. So everything seemed back to normal.
However, when gaming (Dying Light 2 at medium settings), the CPU and GPU temperatures reported by HWiNFO64 seemed suspiciously low at around 35 and 37 degrees respectively. The GPU fan speeds were perfectly normal at 1300rpm, which is where they always sit for this particular game. The CPU fan speeds were maybe a little lower than normal, drifting between 1000 and 1200rpm at various points when I checked.
So I'm not clear if anything is wrong or not here.
