I7 6700K 4.5Ghz Z270E with 16GB RAM runs smoothly while gaming (70% cod + chrome cpu usage). After recently applying a new thermal paste, temperatures are down. I’ve tried two different pastes already, and the CPU cooler fits well. I haven’t noticed such high temps before. The CPU LED sometimes lights up red for a few seconds, but the system boots normally and works fine. Any explanation?

It doesn't appear to be a problem because the motherboard typically lit up during startup.

Yes, it's the same issue—light appears during gameplay but not when the system boots.
