Hello everyone, welcome! Your Ryzen 7 3800X is running smoothly overall. The temperatures you're seeing between 38–45°C are normal for this model under load. The fan adjustments and occasional noise could be due to thermal management or airflow changes. As for your memory setup, it doesn't matter which slots you use—just make sure the RAM sticks are seated correctly in the correct slots. Let me know if you need more tips!

Place the memory in the channel closest to the CPU socket. This is mainly a minor quirk seen in third generation Ryzen chips, particularly on older boards. Adjust your fan curves so they don’t activate until temperatures reach around 50°C, even when fans are off. My 3600 doesn’t hit 50°C at idle, and I think the same applies to a 3800X.

Should it align with the 1st, 3rd or 1st and 2nd? Let me know and I’ll give it a go.

On a 4-slot board, place it in 2+4 counting with the first slot as the closest to the CPU. Also, you have the fan speed adjustment feature on your X370+3700X—haven’t had a chance to explore it yet.
