the motherboard supports vrms but it shouldn’t overheat without overclocking. my other rig uses an i7-3770 with a bclk boosted to 4.3ghz and stays under 46c.

Also verify using Malwarebytes and Windows Defender. Even if you understand the process, reapply thermal paste and ensure everything is properly installed. I just assembled my first PC last year—though it’s mostly straightforward, mistakes are easy to make. There’s definitely something off, and it would be interesting to find out what it is. Personally, I didn’t encounter any problems with the two Ryzen CPUs (2200G and 3600). My guess would be a misaligned heat sink or improper paste application, but I’m not sure.

Verify the temperatures at the HSF hub and the rear of the motherboard. It might be that the CPU has a miscalibrated or defective temperature sensor.
