I completed assembling my computer. The case is Lian-li 011 Dynamic Evo (Snow White) Cooler: Lian-li Galahad AIO 360 with UNI fans (white). CPU is Ryzen 9 5900x, GPU is Evga 3080 FTW3, RAM is 32gb at 3600mhz CL16. PSU is Maingear Ignition 1000w. Storage is 1tb Samsung 980 M.2 4tb Seagate Barracuda HDD. I wanted to verify the thermal paste application by running Cinebench23 on multi-core with Precision Boost over in Ryzen Master. Temperatures peaked at 86°C, and EDC reached maximum at 100%. During idle it stays around 32°C, but it climbs to 62°C without PBO in Cinebench23. Would you mind confirming if everything is normal or if I should consider upgrading the thermal paste to a higher-quality brand? Thank you!

The main concern is how your frequencies are progressing. With Ryzen, temperature readings aren't crucial; what matters more is the frequency range you're targeting because PBO can automatically change frequency and voltage to maintain CPU performance around 75-85°C under stress. In Cinebench, aim for around 4.4GHz to 4.5GHz (your 5900X performs well in that range with a custom water loop). If you're near those speeds, it's expected. If not, temperatures seem elevated.

I've got a fairly consistent setup. With PBO on, temperatures rise fast to 85°C, but using CO and undervolting all cores (maybe -15 or even -20 works) brings it down to about 82°C in CB23. I also boosted the OC by +100MHz and increased PPT to 220W/EDC 220A/TDC 140A, setting caps first with PPT at 200W. I cap EDC at 220W and TDC at 140A on CB23. I don’t think pushing much higher will be safe—heat gets extreme. My config runs around 4550MHz across all cores, scoring 22.3K. In gaming, I hit max core speed up to 5GHz, though it’s usually closer to 4.8GHz.

Sure, everything looks fine now. The signals I received using PBO ranged from 4.5GHz to 4.6GHz.

I’ll have to test this out to check if I can reduce the heat without affecting frequency performance. My previous builds stayed stable between 4.5 and 4.6GHz, but I wasn’t sure about the spikes. This is my first high-end setup, so my other machine ran cooler.

I didn't own a 3900X, but he stayed really calm, never going over 75°C. The 5900X tends to jump up quickly and reaches a much higher maximum clock speed.
