Hello everyone, I just completed my new build and noticed the CPU temperature is a bit above the average suggested idle range of 30-45°C, while mine typically stays between 50-55°C during idle. Most gamers see temps around 60-75°C, but mine hits about 85°C with full fan speed. I know that’s fine, but I’m hoping to reduce it for better longevity. Here are the specs: ROG Hyperion GR701 Full Tower, ROG Crosshair X870E, Hero ROG Astral 5080 O16G AMD 9950X3D, ROG Thor III 1200W, ROG Ryou IV SLC 360 AIO, G.Skill Trident Z Neo 6000 28/32Gx2, Samsung 9100 Pro M.2 2T, and Samsung 870 EVO SSD 4Tx2. Thanks in advance!

These temperatures are within acceptable ranges, indicating no major concerns about durability. The room's ambient temperature plays a role in cooling efficiency, as fans utilize the air to dissipate heat. Ensure the cooler maintains good contact and that thermal paste is applied correctly without excess.

Current room temperature is approximately 20 to 26 degrees. The LC paste has already been applied, so it seems the correct quantity is used. Appreciate your help!

It's quite surprising how often folks overlook the protective plastic film on a heatsink.

You often notice the initial application doesn't match the performance you can achieve by reapplying it. Although it functions as intended, for a noticeable temperature reduction you should upgrade to a high-quality thermal paste such as MX7 or comparable options. Even older formulations like MX4 still provide solid results. It's wise to remove the pre-applied material before mounting and replace it with superior TIM for optimal performance. For guidance on selecting the best paste, refer to this resource: https://www.igorslab.de/en/the-worlds-fi...act-check/

There are a few points to clarify here. It seems there might be some confusion about idle conditions and what they mean. For newcomers, understanding idle mode is key—typically the chip should operate at minimal power, around 1-3% usage. Just because you're not running anything doesn't mean the CPU is inactive; it still consumes power. Keep track of both power consumption and temperature. Load temperatures are more important than idle temps. If you're unsure about the pump speed or fan settings, double-check the manual. You can adjust fan speeds based on your preferences, but you’re not entirely at the control of environmental factors.

Check your side panel to observe temperature changes. This unit seems to offer poor airflow. What is the layout of your fans?

I understand, I’ll give it another shot later. It’s been a bit easy on me lately, but I’ll tackle it soon! Appreciate the tip.
