Hello! I have a query about running a small SSD as a NAS via my router. I own a TP Link Archer AX50, an OEM Samsung MZALQ256B 256GB M.2 PCIe NVME SSD, and an AliExpress M.2 USB 3.0 enclosure—the model BlueEndless M2402N. The drive works well at normal operating temps, around 50-55°C during file transfers. However, when connected to the router with a standard USB 3.0 cable, it feels warmer, likely between 35-45°C. I’m curious if the SSD ever enters a lower power state or sleep mode under these conditions. I know it needs to stay on for network recognition, but I want to confirm if that’s ideal when idle. Thanks!

Generally, sleep mode depends on the operating system rather than the SSD directly. The case usually doesn’t have its own low-power settings—it’s managed by the OS.

It seems like you're unsure about the details. From what I understand, it's a basic container likely made from AliExpress products.
