The PC just started up with a temperature of 100°C, the cooling fan is illuminated, and the pump lights are on.

Are you starting this for the first time or working on an older system? Did you remove the plastic covering the CPU? Are the fans operating normally? Are all connections correctly seated at the headers? Could any component touching the board be creating a short circuit? Is this an AIO setup or a homemade loop? How recent is the device?

Ensure the PC was assembled properly by checking if the plastic cover was removed from the cooler before installation. This cover protects the copper or nickel surface and must be taken off first to avoid thermal insulation issues. Verify you used the appropriate amount of thermal compound—roughly the size of a rice grain—and applied it correctly without spreading it manually. Confirm all cooler screws are fully tightened, as the springs should provide proper pressure.

I just made the changes but misplaced the pump header and accidentally injured my thumb while handling a fan.

The system checked the connected header and confirmed it matched the expected type.
