I've been using a Ryzen 5 5600X with a H100i elite capilix cooler for about eight to nine months now. Recently, I noticed the idle temperatures on my desktop consistently went above 50 degrees, which is typical for most games. Usually it stays under 55 or 60, but now it’s only on the desktop and I’m not sure why. The CPU load is low while the clock speed is at its maximum. I’m not a tech expert, so I don’t know if this is normal or not. I think it might be contributing to the problem. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, I’d really appreciate it. I also ran Cinebench and the peak temperature reached 62 degrees, which suggests it’s not out of the ordinary but still a bit concerning.
Check if Windows Power Plan is configured for peak performance. Adjusting it to balanced often maintains maximum clock speeds, which is typical for the Ryzen 5000 series. For idle temperatures, it's acceptable, but focus more on load temperatures when using the processor.
