Hi.
Overclocking a CPU can affect its temperature in different ways. It may run hotter idle if the extra power demand increases heat generation. Removing the overclock typically reduces heat output, so your CPU should be cooler during gameplay. The impact depends on how much you overclock and your system's cooling setup.

Hi.
If you increased the CPU's speed, does it also heat up when idle? Or does the overclock happen only when more power is needed? I'm asking whether removing the overclock or not affects the CPU's temperature during games. The answer is yes, it will be cooler if you remove the overclock. Voltage is the main reason for temperature changes.

I'm asking whether removing the overclock or not affects the CPU's temperature during games. The answer is yes, it will be cooler without overclocking, as voltage is the main reason for temperature changes. Overclocked CPUs tend to run hotter in idle unless you use features like offset or adaptive voltage.

It will operate warmer under full demand, but typically cooler during idle or low loads. With precise overcurrent control and voltage checks, you can reduce the voltage rise, which helps keep the temperature increase at load levels.
