I just updated Windows on my computer, and when I checked the internet usage in Task Manager while playing a game on Steam, it showed 0%.

The update rate on also isn't visible when using Only Effects Ethernet.

If you aren't doing anything on the network then yeah the network usage will be 0%

I interpreted it as network data rather than internet activity. Previously, the chart only updated during internal transfers and overlooked external traffic. It seems they merged those concepts.

It might even claim to show port traffic. The internet is unrelated to this.

It will always talk to it's network. Now it's network may be in the public IP range (in which case it would be referred to as a WAN), or it may be in a private IP range (in which case it would be referred to as a LAN), but either way the adapter itself doesn't know it's an internet adapter. You can give them names, or route certain traffic through them, but essentially there is never an "internet" adapter. If you are clever enough to realize that traffic going through the adapter with a route to the internet is probably internet traffic then that makes sense, but it's really the only way you're gonna know. Ain't it?
