This vintage system has lasted a decade! The main updates in the past year were switching to Debian Stretch, which reached stability in June 2017, and moving away from the older Firefox version (Firefox Quantum ESR) that was no longer functioning well. The current Debian Stretch is running Firefox 91.5.0esr, which is still usable. Browsing remains functional, though some heavily advertised pages can cause issues—maybe an ad blocker would help. The only downsides are the performance issues with gthumb (version 3.4.4.1) for image cropping, likely due to the old graphics card nearing its limits. No major plans beyond upgrading to Debian Buster in Q2 2023.

Remaining quite robust. No significant issues to mention in 2022... The Debian Stretch version from 2017 is currently active, with plans to transition to Debian Buster by the fall.
Currently experimenting with the household funds!

I'm still relying on this old machine.
After the recent update, I moved my Debian OS from Stretch to Buster. Once that was done, I began facing complete system freezes when using the Outlook Web Application with Firefox as the browser. Switching from the 4.19 kernel to 5.10 didn't help.
To get stable performance, I had to turn off Firefox's hardware acceleration. I think this situation marks the start of the end for this outdated setup...only time will tell. Fingers crossed.
I'm thinking about upgrading from Debian Buster to Bullseye later this year.
