Taking old titles from Steam is a poor practice for Rockstar.
Taking old titles from Steam is a poor practice for Rockstar.
Many titles were taken off the market only to be reintroduced with updated versions. For instance, both GTA IV and GTA EFLC were combined into a single release: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition. Multiplayer was removed, the Social Club feature was added instead of GFWL, leaderboards and achievements were deleted. Radio stations like RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM, and Vice City FM were also taken away. The overall changelog from Rockstar seems focused mainly on reducing quality rather than improving the experience. Regarding GTA III, VC and SA, Rockstar removed them but hasn't yet released updated versions. Advice for Rockstar: Keep older games intact and avoid pushing new releases until the older ones are stable.
It seems you got the details wrong. The main platform affected was the marketplace. You can still access GFWL and play online games that rely on it. Check out this Steam discussion for more info: https://steamcommunity.com/app/12210/dis...496557007/
