It seems Tails Linux is often praised for its security features, but it relies on Tor for outgoing communications. Since Tor isn't considered fully safe, the overall value of using it depends on your specific needs and risk tolerance.

Tails offers privacy rather than strong protection, with a minor drawback being its less ideal performance for everyday tasks—more suited as a temporary communication tool. The main issue with Tor networks is that certain proxies or entry points can be exploited by malicious actors. Despite this, it provides unique benefits. At just a thumb drive and in about ten minutes, it’s a worthwhile option if you require or prefer it. It isn’t significantly safer than other operating systems, but it presents a different set of risks.

It's just as secure as any regular public or user-driven network, but it faces a unique set of dangers compared to standard internet use. No online activity is completely risk-free, though the Tor network seems to offer strong protection.

I believe Tor wasn't built with safety as its main goal, but to conceal your identity. That said, what does "safe" really imply here? If it means hiding who you are, then yes—it can be safe. However, if safety means preventing hackers, that's a different story. Using Tails is excellent for keeping your online presence private, but whether it counts as safe depends on how the user interacts with the system.
