My PC runs a Ryzen 7 3700X with 8GB RAM, a 3600MHz processor, and an RTX 3060 Ti. I planned to increase my RAM from 16GB to 32GB, but I'm curious if upgrading to 3200MHz RAM would be worthwhile while saving money. When I set XMP1 to 3600MHz, the system would normally power down during demanding games, though I've kept it off for over a year. After restarting, I tested various methods to force shutdown and confirmed the issue was with the RAM. I've run several programs, including AIDA64, and even citiesConfusedkylines with mods, but they performed fine. However, Minecraft with shaders crashed after just a minute of playtime.

The main issue with RAM speeds is the Infinity Fabric agreement with Ryzen CPUs. Look at FCLK, UCLK and MEMCLK which are adjusted to half the RAM speed because of double data rate. For 3600mhz RAM, they should be set to 1800. If not, lower the RAM speed and adjust accordingly. The Ryzen 3000 should work at 3600 but might need a slower speed if the sample is poor. For 3400mhz with FCLK, UCLK and MEMCLK at 1700, it could improve performance by fine-tuning timings. I can't assist further.
