System suddenly stopped working and RAM was damaged.
For roughly three days now my computer has been acting up. The problems began when games wouldn’t run and apps wouldn’t launch correctly. Now things have escalated to the point where opening any program causes freezing, no action, or a blue screen. It’s starting to crash completely. Most error messages point to memory management issues (about three-quarters of cases) or a problem with I/O operations (the other third). I’ve been troubleshooting for about a day and think I’ve identified the likely culprit: my RAM. After playing Geometry Dash, I received an error code like “0x000000,” which suggests a memory-related fault. I’m worried it might be the RAM itself since that’s what I’d need to replace if it’s faulty. My second thought is driver problems, but I’ve already updated the GPU drivers and tried downloading them from Windows Update. I’m really anxious because my system is powerful—Windows 10, RTX 3060, 32GB RAM, etc.—and I fear it could fail unexpectedly. Please let me know if you need more details or images to help diagnose. Thanks!
I also mentioned switching from a 32GB kit to my older 16GB one, though they had different speeds and the motherboard's "Ez debug LED" lit up when the CPU was active—no connection. I've attempted to disable XMP in BIOS, but I'm still unsure what's causing the issue. My keyboard shuts off immediately when I press the "mash delete to get into BIOS" button, which feels suspicious.
Search for "Windows Memory Diagnostic," execute it, and observe any detected memory issues.
Yesterday evening, I executed "mcsched" and after finishing the test, logging back in to my restarted computer revealed a warning about hardware issues.
Run the memory check using both drives together in the same port.
Press F1 to access the BIOS, verify it’s using the standard memory configuration, and then proceed to save and exit before restarting the system.
