I acquired an outdated LGA 775 motherboard (GA-EP41-UD3L) equipped with a Pentium D 945 and two 2 GB dual-rank DDR2 modules. I chose to push it overclock for experimentation. The parts are quite old and not practical for modern use, but that’s fine. The board features the G41 chipset on its north bridge side. The issue is that after turning on host clock control without adjusting it (using the stock value), the system repeatedly fails to boot and reverts to default settings afterward. Could be related to the motherboard or the CPU?
