System starts up but screen remains off, only CPU is visible
I own a brand new PC that I’ve been using since Saturday, February 10th. It’s functioning perfectly until recently. My dad examined it and found nothing unusual, but he reported that my screen would flicker black and shut down unpredictably, then stop completely after about an hour. System details show a Ryzen 5 5500, an XFX RX 580, an ASUS B450M-A II, and Windows 10 Pro x64. Before you suggest removing the GPU to use the integrated graphics, I’ve already reinserted it and confirmed the power cable is connected. The diagnostic light on the GPU is blue—looks like a software issue rather than hardware failure. Since my CPU isn’t equipped with any integrated graphics, I’m curious if disconnecting the SSD and reinstalling it would clear the problem. If that doesn’t work, could using the BIOS flashback function be an alternative? What would be the potential downsides of trying that approach?
