System starts more slowly following the upgrade.
Hello, I recently replaced my PC's motherboard, RAM, CPU, and cooler. Remember, I kept the same SATA SSD and GPU. My current setup looks like this: CPU – Ryzen 5 7600X, GPU – Radeon RX 7800 XT, Case – Corsair Airflow 480T, PSU – Silverstone DA750R, Gold RAM – 2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5, CPU cooler – Corsair iCue H100i Elite, Motherboard – ASUS TUF Gaming B650e plus Wi-Fi. After the upgrade, I noticed a problem: when I press power, the RGB lights turn on instantly, but after about five seconds fans start spinning. The motherboard stays lit for roughly fifteen seconds before booting slowly. I timed the startup three times and averaged 1 minute and 28 seconds. Before this upgrade, my boot time was much quicker. Anyone know why this happens?
You didn't reinstall Windows or you didn't take any steps to boot from the OS disk.
DDR5 and Ryzen 7000 CPUs started with notably long boot times around 6 minutes on the first BIOS version. Early updates to motherboard BIOS have improved this to about a minute and twenty-eight seconds. Changing the BIOS settings can further speed up startup, though it might introduce some instability by skipping memory training. Since I was raised in the early 90s, slower boot times weren’t an issue for me.
