Hello, I'm working with an old Dell OptiPlex 780 and trying to set up Linux. I'm having trouble booting into Ubuntu or Lubuntu, but the loading screen appears before I reach the desktop. Once I power on, the computer restarts repeatedly without progressing. I can only access the installer when using Safe Graphics. Should I consider a distro without video output? Also, my CPU is a Core2 Duo E8500.

Consider using a less recent or simpler distribution that doesn't need GPU drivers.

It seems I can start the operating system by entering recovery mode and booting from there. Odd...
