I was refreshing my profile via the "Flash Bios button" on the back of my motherboard, and suddenly my PC started booting into Windows while the BIOS was still active.

You're seeing the BIOS information on your Windows home screen, even though it's not active.

Windows launched since your BIOS/UEFI completed the update and began the operating system, or it disregarded the USB drive because it couldn't locate any usable files.
