Hey there. I just put together a new PC six weeks ago, mixing used and brand-new components. The build turned out solid and cost only 700€. Everything except the motherboard, RAM, CPU, and graphics card was brand new. Right from the start, I turned on XMP in the BIOS for the RAM and adjusted fan curves—I didn’t notice any overheating because the system ran smoothly and quickly. Now that work schedules are less frequent, I’m spending more time gaming and tinkering with my PC, so I’m looking for ways to boost performance further. I did some research and found a potential fix. The system stays stable around 3.1GHz at 4.6GHz clock speed, but at those settings the RAM slows down to 2933Mhz. If I raise the RAM speed to 3200Mhz, the CPU speed drops to about 4.3GHz. Got any suggestions? Does this sound reasonable? Thanks!
All settings seem fully activated according to what I understand. I believe the problem isn't related to power, but rather to the BIOS configuration. I'm relatively new to these newer systems; I was still using a 2600 a few weeks back.
