Suddenly my PC shuts down unexpectedly when I take it away, it seems to happen without warning as it functions normally while in use. Occasionally it won’t restart at all when left alone for a period and sometimes it restarts right away when the screen turns off. I usually put it into sleep mode before leaving it, but sometimes it appears to begin (fans spin up, etc.) yet the display stays black—no output, just no input. This issue occurs on Windows 11, after a recent clean reinstall that finally fixed my blue-tooth lock screen problems. The only actions I’ve taken are:
- Executed scf scannnow, results unclear since the command prompt vanished.
- Ran a scan with Spybot, with minimal activity.
- Turned off automatic system restarts on failure in Windows settings.
I suspect a disk error or CPU-related problem, though I’m certain it runs smoothly with this CPU and has never struggled with Cyberpunk at 4K for over 50 hours. All drives except C:/Data (D) and Games (G) are SSDs. The system log shows a kernel power failure message, likely coinciding with the reboot, but it’s not a genuine error.
EDIT - Updated with specs and disk information.

Usually hardware issues can arise from poor connections or similar problems. My media player PC would crash and restart several days ago, I disassembled it completely—including the CPU—and cleaned everything thoroughly before reassembling it, and it now works fine.

Is it a 5800X? What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard? Which power supply do you have? A failing Seagate drive can lead to system issues. Do you know your RAM speed is 2400Mhz, which is quite poor for a Zen3 CPU? Consider enabling XMP/DOCP settings.

Check for possible causes of shutdown on Windows 10. If issues persist, consider replacing components.
